Artist Biography:
Chris has been published in Art Business News. Chris has had his artwork on exhibit at the New York Society of Illustrators among many other exhibitions. He has worked as a textile designer for companies such as Target and Sears. He has developed his own unique, colorful and painterly style that takes viewers to a calm place of solace and positive energy. This original art is available for sale and represents an excellent investment value.
Chris has had a passion for art starting at a very young age and continuing throughout his entire life. Art in one form or another such as drawing, painting, sculpture or printmaking has always been there. Experimenting with new ideas, growing learning new mediums and techniques is very important to him. At Syracuse University he majored in illustration. As his skills developed he discovered screen printing and took a strong interest in it. Two of the screen prints that he made in college in the late 1980’s were later accepted in the prestigious Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition in New York.
Chris’s interest in fine art screen printing (also known as Serigraphy) continued after college and led him to work for Chameleon Editions in Jersey City, NJ one of the most respected screen printing companies in the fine art industry at the time in 1995. As a chromist Chris interpreted original oil paintings into serigraphs for many of the most well established artists in the fine art business again elevating his skill level higher. This is where he
discovered an interest in impressionist landscape painting that continues to inspire his work today.
Chris’s current work displays a deep expression of positive energy that combines many art techniques from the past in a way that is unique to today. Chris draws inspiration from the great masters of Impressionism like Monet, Van Gogh as well as much later artist of Pop art such as Warhol. Visiting art galleries in New York and Europe on a regular basis also provides inspiration for his work. The airy atmosphere, bright colors, fluid brush strokes and dramatic light in Chris’s work is uplifting and takes the viewer to a place that is calm and relaxing.
